The best Red Bank restaurant, Basil T’s Brewery and Italian Grill, recently shared its infamous pasta fagioli recipe with eager and very hungry fans.
The owner of Basil T’s Brewery and Italian Grill who is also the chef behind this extremely tasty Italian dish is Victor Rallo Jr., who recently shared his pasta fagioli recipe online. Victor divulged the secret behind his father’s pasta fagioli recipe which includes quality ingredients and hot pepper flakes.
While at home, which is his kitchen, Victor expressed the importance Italians put on their food. Italians are passionate about their home and the food they put on the table. After watching this recipe, viewers and tasters alike will know what it tastes like to eat the freshest ingredients in a simple yet hearty Italian soup.
At Basil T’s Brewery and Italian Grill, an infamous Red Bank restaurant known for its quality food, the pasta fagioli is made “a la natural” with pure and simple ingredients. If you have 15 minutes, then you have time to make this amazing dish. Pasta fagioli is homemade comfort food at its best. Since there’s not that much to the soup itself, it’s important to use quality ingredients so that when you eat you can enjoy each distinct flavor. The ingredients are also accessible because your favorite Red Bank restaurant knows comfort food shouldn’t be difficult to make.
To make this infamous dish, the chef and owner of your favorite Red Bank restaurant uses a ½ cup of good olive oil, 12 ounces each of chick peas, cannellini beans, good Italian tomatoes that are chopped without much puree, homemade chicken stock and combines it with 3 tablespoons of chopped garlic, ½ lb of chopped bacon or Prosciutto, 3-4 ounces of fresh basil, and sea salt, pepper, and hot pepper seeds.
In a large pot, the chef and owner of your favorite Red Bank restaurant combines the garlic, olive oil, and bacon to develop the flavor profile of the pasta fagioli soup. Once the mixture turns to the right color, the chef adds salt (the most important component of cooking) with the rest of the ingredients. To make the soup thick, the Victor of Basil T’s Brewery and Italian Grill uses a whisk to break down the beans and release their starch. No flour or cornstarch in this classic soup! After bringing the soup to a boil and cooking it for 15 minutes, the chef and owner of the best Red Bank restaurant displays the classic comfort dish, pasta fagioli.
To complete pasta fagioli, Victor adds four ounces of dittalini pasta (since pasta y fagioli means pasta and beans in Italian) when the soup is ready to be served. Along with a hearty and crusty Italian bread, the amazing pasta fagioli soup is ready to be eaten!
Your favorite Red Bank restaurant shows its fans how to create the classic homemade comfort food, pasta fagioli, at home in just 15 minutes. Nothing fancy here, just quality ingredients and 15 minutes until you have pasta fagioli on your dinner table! Don’t feel like cooking? Call Basil T’s Brewery and Grill at (732) 842-5990 for a reservation!
