There are two reasons to give Basil T’s 4 out 5 stars. Both are important but not enough to keep me away from the food. Each visit is consistently an Italian treasure. Having been to Italy only two times, memories of fresh ingredients, interesting combinations, and excellent service make those memories come back to me. Recently, a pasta special for the night was a ravioli stuffed with broccoli rabe and sausage. Served in a light, fresh tomato sauce, we just thoroughly enjoyed every bite, the fresh, housemade pasta cooked al dente, not easy to do! Our guests were very happy with their pizza and another excellent pasta dish with crispy eggplant and fresh mozzarella. Topping off our dinner, we also enjoyed a moist and dark zucchini cake with a lemon glaze. Yum! The two reasons for holding back a star? It is a bit pricey and the ventilation could be greatly improved. But, as I said, I will be back for my Italy adventure in Red Bank.
